Uzbekistan and SLB Discuss Energy Sector Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 21 May, a meeting was held between Uzbekistan’s Minister of Energy J. Mirzamahmudov and SLB President for the Asia-Pacific region S. Shohdi. The talks were also attended by SLB Managing Director for Central Asia A. Boykov and representatives of both sides.
The meeting focused on the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and SLB (Schlumberger), one of the world’s largest oilfield services companies, founded in 1926 and operating in more than 120 countries. The company is headquartered in Houston.
The sides reviewed cooperation in geological exploration, drilling, digitalization, reservoir modeling and hydrocarbon resource development. Particular attention was paid to the development of digital databases, improving the efficiency of field development, and forming short-term and long-term production strategies.
Issues of personnel training, professional development and the growth of the local labor market were also discussed.
SLB representatives presented international experience in implementing educational programs in cooperation with профильные universities.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue cooperation and information exchange.
Separately, an agreement was reached to hold a joint practical seminar in early June dedicated to digitalization and the application of technologies, including artificial intelligence solutions, in drilling and field development.
