Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Talks were held in Tashkent between a delegation of the Administration of the President of Russia, led by Assistant to the President Dmitry Mironov, and representatives of Uzbek government bodies, focusing on expanding bilateral cooperation in combating corruption.

During the discussions, the sides exchanged views on national policy priorities in the field, as well as recent changes in regulatory frameworks and practical anti-corruption measures.

Following the meeting, Maksim Travnikov, Head of the Presidential Directorate for Civil Service, Personnel and Anti-Corruption, and Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan, signed a memorandum of understanding between the respective institutions.

The parties also highlighted the importance of cooperation within international anti-corruption platforms. In particular, Uzbekistan is expected to host the 12th session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption in 2027, which defines key directions of global cooperation in this area.

Both sides emphasized shared approaches on fundamental issues, noting that corruption undermines the rule of law, hinders economic development, and negatively affects public institutions.

The meeting concluded with confirmation of intentions to further develop cooperation under the signed memorandum, and was held in a constructive atmosphere. The Russian side also extended an invitation for Uzbek representatives to pay a reciprocal visit to Russia.
