Uzbekistan and Romania to expand pharmaceutical cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Romania are exploring new opportunities for cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry.

Abdulla Azizov, Director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry, held a meeting with Daniel Cristian Ciobanu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Uzbekistan.

The sides focused on implementing joint production projects, technology transfer, and developing scientific and educational cooperation.

Daniel Cristian Ciobanu noted the high level of conditions created in Uzbekistan for the development of the pharmaceutical industry. He highlighted the activities of the joint venture Rompharm NS as a successful example of cooperation between the two countries.

The talks also addressed the involvement of Romanian pharmaceutical companies in implementing joint production projects in Uzbekistan.

Laboratory activities, scientific research and the training of qualified specialists for the pharmaceutical industry were identified as separate areas of cooperation.

Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their interest in further developing practical cooperation and implementing joint initiatives in the pharmaceutical sector.
