Uzbekistan and Poland Boost Digital Cooperation Ties
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski held talks in Tashkent with representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, focusing on prospects for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Poland in the field of digital technologies and innovation.
As part of the visit program, the Polish delegation was presented with the activities of the Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park Uzbekistan. Key reforms implemented in the country to develop the IT sector were outlined in detail, including the creation of favorable conditions for residents, tax and infrastructure incentives, and measures aimed at increasing IT services exports. Particular attention was given to the development of the startup ecosystem and mechanisms supporting young technology companies.
The delegation also became acquainted with the work of the Ustudy IT Academy, which focuses on training IT specialists, and UZINFOCOM, a unified integrator playing a key role in the development of the country’s digital infrastructure.
Later, negotiations were held with First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Oleg Pekos. The parties discussed expanding cooperation in information and communication technologies, as well as creating new opportunities for students and young specialists in both countries. Support for startups, development of innovative projects, and the formation of a joint working group to coordinate further steps were also discussed.
During the meeting, it was noted that Poland operates more than 3,000 digital public services and has implemented platforms comparable to Uzbekistan’s my.gov.uz portal. The Polish side highly praised the pace of digital transformation in Uzbekistan, emphasizing that the country’s IT ecosystem has demonstrated significant progress in a short period.
At the conclusion of the talks, both sides confirmed their intention to elevate cooperation in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and innovation to a new level, supported by practical projects and joint initiatives.
