Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Sign Treaty on Allied Relations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov signed a Treaty on Allied Relations following high-level negotiations, securing a new stage in the development of bilateral cooperation.

Following the signing of the document, a ceremony was held in the presence of the heads of state to exchange bilateral agreements and other documents aimed at expanding interaction between the two countries.

In particular, the sides signed a Treaty on the Sections of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz State Border, an Agreement on the Joint Use of the Chashma Spring, and an Agreement on State Social Insurance and Pensions.

In addition, an Agreement on the Mutual Recognition of Credits in Higher Education was concluded, intended to promote the development of academic mobility and cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries.

The parties also exchanged protocols amending the intergovernmental Agreement on State Border Crossing Points and the Agreement on Mutual Travel of Citizens, as well as a protocol to the Agreement on Resort and Recreational Facilities Located in the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan.

Among the signed documents are an Action Plan in Culture for 2026–2027, a Joint Action Plan for Tourism Development for 2026–2027, an Agreement on the Buston Resort in the Ton District of the Issyk-Kul Region, and a Practical Action Plan in the Agro-Industrial Complex for 2026–2027.

The signed package of documents covers a wide range of bilateral cooperation areas and aims to further strengthen allied relations, while developing economic, humanitarian, and cross-border ties between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
