Uzbekistan and France Launch Seasonal Work Programs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and France have agreed to launch structured programs for seasonal employment of Uzbek citizens, marking a new stage in bilateral cooperation on legal labor migration and workforce development.
A delegation from Uzbekistan, including representatives of the Migration Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France, held a series of meetings in France focused on expanding safe and organized employment opportunities for Uzbek workers.
During talks with the French National Federation of Agricultural Holders’ Unions (FNSEA), the two sides reached an agreement to involve Uzbek citizens in seasonal agricultural work, particularly in vineyard operations. As part of a pilot initiative, the first group of 50 candidates is expected to be sent to France starting from the upcoming summer season.
In addition, an agreement was signed with the French recruitment organization Sélect Recruiting Service, which specializes in labor placement, to support the selection and employment of Uzbek workers in the French labor market.
Another key area of cooperation concerns the integration of education and employment. With CFA AC Paris, the sides agreed to implement a “training plus employment” model aimed at preparing specialists for the restaurant and hospitality sector, with subsequent job placement opportunities in France.
To ensure coordination of the agreements and address legal and organizational matters, the Uzbek delegation also held meetings with a number of French institutions, including the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of National Education, the public employment service France Travail, the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Île-de-France), and the Assistance Publique–Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP).
Both sides confirmed their interest in further developing a systematic framework for cooperation in labor migration and professional training.
