Uzbekistan and Ajinomoto Discuss MSG Production Investment Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov has met with representatives of Japanese company Ajinomoto to discuss the implementation of an investment project in the food industry.

The parties discussed the possibility of establishing a facility in Uzbekistan for the production of high-quality food additives, including the production and packaging of monosodium glutamate (MSG).

Separate attention was given to the concept of the Uzbekistan Umami Month (UUM) event, which the company plans to hold in Uzbekistan in 2026. The initiative envisages the organisation of scientific and practical seminars, product presentations, and masterclasses for chefs on the safety and properties of Ajinomoto products.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their readiness to further develop cooperation in the food industry.

The Uzbek side expressed its readiness to provide the necessary advisory and practical assistance in the implementation of the project and associated events.
