Uzbekistan and Afghanistan Discuss Business Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan with a delegation from Afghanistan led by Abu Bakr Zadran. The dialogue brought together representatives of more than 50 Afghan companies, alongside Uzbek enterprises operating in the food, textile, chemical, and construction sectors.
The sides discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation, emphasizing the need to intensify direct contacts between business communities and to build sustainable partnerships between industry associations of the two countries.
Special attention was given to industrial cooperation. Uzbek companies presented their export potential, while the Afghan side outlined key priority areas for collaboration, including agriculture, mining, and logistics.
Opportunities for joint project implementation, technology transfer, and workforce training were also discussed.
Within the B2B format, entrepreneurs from both countries reviewed specific proposals on product supplies and entry into new markets. Uzbek companies confirmed their readiness to develop long-term partnerships. Issues related to simplifying trade procedures and improving transit routes were also addressed.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their intention to strengthen practical cooperation, continue dialogue on key areas, and organize further meetings between business representatives of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
