Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Akhadbek Khaydarov held a meeting with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on 18 September devoted to the development of gender-oriented budgeting, the Ministry of Economy and Finance's information service and communications department said.

The two sides discussed current work, tasks and promising areas of cooperation.

During the meeting, the importance of further applying gender-oriented approaches in education, healthcare and social protection was noted. Separate attention was given to improving the knowledge and skills of state body employees in this area.

The two sides also examined the development of a practical guide to gender-oriented budgeting that would be accessible to civil servants. The document should explain its content, goals and main principles.

In addition, issues of training and professional development for employees were discussed, along with the preparation of a practical roadmap for developing gender-oriented budgeting.

Following the meeting, the two sides agreed to identify further measures on the basis of the existing two-year strategy and the work already carried out in Uzbekistan.
