Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Officers of the State Security Service and internal affairs bodies have seized nearly 9 kg of narcotic substances in the Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions. Criminal cases have been initiated for both incidents.

In the Termez district of Surkhandarya region, officers discovered 4 kg of hashish abandoned by unknown individuals in an agricultural field during an operational preventive measure. Necessary procedural documents were prepared regarding the discovery of the narcotic substance.

In Jizzakh, officers of the State Security Service department for Jizzakh region, together with internal affairs bodies, stopped a resident of Zarbdor district born in 1981 for inspection. Inside a utility sack he was carrying, officers found 4 kg 840 g of cannabis. The narcotic substance was seized as physical evidence.

As part of the investigations, law enforcement agencies are taking measures to identify individuals involved in the detected offenses.
