Uzbek leader resolves to strengthen internal market

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek President Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On measures on regulating import of consumer goods by individuals” on 1 June 2009. The agreement envisages strengthening of protection of internal consumer market.

In line with the resolution, individuals can import goods for personal use for US$10 from neighboring states without any customs duties from 2 June. Earlier, individuals can import products for US$25 without duties.

State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan was entrusted to ensure strict control over import of goods by individuals to Uzbekistan.
