Uzbek Central Bank and OTP Group Discuss Ipoteka-Bank
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a working meeting with a delegation from the Hungarian OTP Group.
The negotiations took place within the framework of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum. From the domestic side, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Sanjar Nosirov and heads of relevant departments of the regulator, while the foreign partners were represented by a delegation led by the Acting Chairman of the Management Board of JSC Ipoteka-bank (part of OTP Group), Adam Szentpeteri.
During the dialogue, the parties conducted a detailed analysis of the operational and financial activities of Ipoteka-bank over the last three years since its privatization by the European banking group.
The meeting participants discussed current approaches to managing credit risks, ensuring cybersecurity, and maintaining the operational sustainability of financial institutions.
An important topic of discussion was also the current macroeconomic situation in the republic and forecasts of key economic indicators for the short term.
Representatives of OTP Group shared the group's international experience in the field of long-term strategic planning and risk mitigation. They paid special attention to current projects for the large-scale modernization and digitalization of the technological infrastructure of the subordinate Uzbek bank.
In turn, the management of the Central Bank acquainted the investors with the opportunities being created in the field of financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The representatives of the regulator dwelt separately on the ongoing measures to improve national credit scoring mechanisms and implement effective guarantee schemes for businesses.
Following the negotiations, the parties confirmed their intention to continue a regular professional dialogue across all designated areas and to study new promising vectors for long-term cooperation.
