Uzbek Car Production Grows 12.8 Percent in H1 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Passenger car production in Uzbekistan totaled 235,794 units in January–June 2026, up 12.8 percent from 208,975 units in the same period last year, according to the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics.

Truck manufacturing grew 21.3 percent to 2,751 units, compared with 2,268 units a year earlier. Production of specialized vehicles increased 26.7 percent to 29,582 units from 23,353 units.

Among individual passenger car models, the Cobalt recorded the highest production volume at 82,951 units compared with 73,102 units a year earlier, representing a 13.5 percent increase. The BYD model registered significant growth, with output rising 91.5 percent to 13,405 units from 7,000 units in January–June 2025. Haval production grew 43.1 percent to 5,061 units from 3,538, while Kia output rose 29.1 percent to 15,184 units from 11,763.

At the same time, output for certain models declined. Damas production dropped 7.2 percent to 42,663 units compared with 45,992 units a year earlier. Onix production rose 8.5 percent to 18,715 units from 17,249, Chery output increased 6.1 percent to 4,384 units from 4,131, and Tracker production rose 1.8 percent to 23,249 units against 22,847 units last year. The agency also noted the start of production for the Chevrolet Damas Move model, with 600 units manufactured during the six-month period.
