Urban Festivals: A Course in development of service economy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to stimulate creative industries as a factor of social and economic development, Tashkent city administration and the Public Council are launching a series of large-scale city festivals.

The first event in the chain of events will be Chilla Fest - 2018, which will be held on Sunday, 29 July. Cultural activities of this kind make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the area. Urban festivals are aimed at revealing the creative potential of its participants and turning the venue into an art venue, as well as enhancing the country’s tourist attraction.

The program Chilla Fest - 2018 will cover all age groups and create conditions for an interesting family and friendly pastime. To the existing attractions the organizers will add information and entertainment zones, art objects and performances of dance-vocal groups.

The spacebridge on the LED screens installed in all five parks, with the Tashkent khokim Jahongir Artikhodjaev is scheduled for 18:00. Khokim will talk about the impact of such events on the look and atmosphere of the capital, share plans for further transformation of the urban environment, describe the work done and future projects in the development of urban infrastructure.

Until the end of the year, several more festivals are planned. Representatives of creative professions (artists, sculptors, designers, artisans, etc.) can organize presentations of their works, read public lectures or arrange a master class for those who wish.

Six event agencies are involved for the organization of the festival Chilla Fest – 2018.
