Tender announced for PPP project to modernize and manage Urgench Airport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – The Government of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with Uzbekistan Airports, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, has announced a tender for the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project for the modernization and management of Urgench International Airport.

The project is planned to be implemented under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.

Uzbekistan Airports has announced the first stage of the tender, which includes a Request for Qualifications (RFQ). Companies with experience in similar projects are invited to participate.

Details on application submission and requirements for tender participants are available on the official website of the company. Applications are accepted until September 14, 2024, at 18:00 Tashkent time.

Urgench Airport serves regular flights for 8 airlines and about 40 charter airlines. In 2023, the airport served 590,000 passengers, with a 17% increase in passenger traffic expected in 2024. During the PPP period, passenger traffic is projected to grow annually by an average of 7.5%.
