Tax Committee identifies 3.1bn soum violations by bloggers
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan said six of the country’s most popular bloggers may have underpaid about 3.1 billion soums in taxes.
The statement was made during an online discussion dedicated to tax administration in the blogging sector.
According to the committee, income data from 110 leading bloggers was analyzed. Of them, 55 are registered as self-employed, 33 operate as individual entrepreneurs, and 22 are classified as private individuals.
The committee said the combined declared income of the group in 2025 amounted to 2.7 billion soums, while total tax payments reached 110 million soums.
A separate analysis of advertising activity involving six major bloggers indicated potential unpaid taxes of 3.1 billion soums. The figures were described as preliminary.
The authority stressed that blogging activity is considered entrepreneurial and must be properly registered for tax purposes.
It also noted that some bloggers use administrators and advertising managers, which is not permitted under the self-employment regime.
The State Tax Committee has given bloggers three months to bring their activities into compliance with national legislation.
