Tashkent, St. Petersburg Discuss Expanding Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Officials from Tashkent held talks with a delegation from St. Petersburg led by Vice Governor Kirill Polyakov to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation.

The Uzbek side was represented by Deputy Hokim of Tashkent Obidjon Muminov, Head of External Economic and International Relations Diyor Pulatov, and Deputy Chairman for Strategic Development at Tashkent Invest Company Rustam Kodirov.

Polyakov noted that initiatives and agreements reached at the level of the presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia provide a solid foundation for further strengthening bilateral ties.

Representatives of St. Petersburg presented the city’s economic potential and shared practical experience, expressing readiness to cooperate in areas including road infrastructure development, public transport, industry, construction, and investment.

The parties also confirmed their interest in expanding dialogue on the implementation of modern solutions and supporting large-scale development projects in Tashkent.

Following the meeting, both sides agreed to organize extended presentations of the proposed initiatives and to hold follow-up working negotiations.
