Tashkent region discusses agribusiness investment in Italy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of Tashkent region led by Governor Zoir Mirzaev held working meetings in Italy, focusing on livestock modernization and the expansion of interregional investment cooperation.

As part of the visit, talks were held with the leadership of the Italian National Association of Livestock Breeders (Associazione Italiana Allevatori, AIA), as well as with representatives of companies operating in the livestock sector. The sides discussed opportunities for introducing modern approaches in pedigree livestock breeding, genetic selection, veterinary services, and technological support for farms.

Special attention was given to the creation of modern livestock clusters in Tashkent region, the development of dairy and meat production, increasing the population of high-yield livestock, and implementing artificial insemination technologies. Issues related to product processing and expansion of export potential were also discussed.

The activities of the Italian Association of Livestock Breeders, founded in 1944 and specializing in breeding development, livestock productivity improvement, and advisory support for farmers, were also presented.

During a separate meeting, Zoir Mirzaev held talks with President of the Lazio region Francesco Rocca. The sides discussed interregional cooperation in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, education, logistics, tourism, agro-industrial complex, and digital technologies.

It was noted that Tashkent region has significant investment potential, developed infrastructure, and strong labor resources, making it attractive for Italian partners. Following the talks, the sides agreed to develop direct cooperation, organize business missions, and implement joint investment projects.
