Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Slovakia have discussed opportunities to expand trade and economic cooperation, increase bilateral trade turnover and strengthen investment ties between businesses in the two countries.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of Uzbekistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Viktor Borecky, Slovakia's Ambassador to Uzbekistan.
The parties examined opportunities to expand export and import operations and support companies from both countries in entering new markets.
Particular attention was given to the establishment of joint ventures and the implementation of projects through public-private partnership (PPP) mechanisms.
During the meeting, the Slovak side presented information on investment opportunities available to Uzbek entrepreneurs in Slovakia, including conditions for obtaining land plots and existing business support measures.
The participants also discussed the regulation of bilateral cooperation in labour migration.
The talks addressed potential areas for strengthening business connections and creating additional opportunities for enterprises interested in developing commercial activities in the two countries.
Representatives of Slovakia's business community are expected to participate in the international forum "New Uzbekistan: Crossroads of Global Markets", scheduled to take place from 29 November to 5 December 2026.
The forum is expected to provide an opportunity for further contacts between business representatives and discussions on potential areas of trade and investment cooperation.
