Tashkent Metro Refutes Viral Video of Beruni Station Crowd

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Metro issued a statement addressing video footage circulating on social media showing large crowds of passengers at Beruni metro station, stating that the video was recorded in 2024 and does not reflect the current situation at the station.

The press service of the metro system noted that the same video had previously circulated on social media in 2025, at which time official clarifications were also provided regarding its publication.

Currently, trains on the Tashkent Metro operate strictly according to the established schedule, and stations are functioning under normal operating conditions, with passengers being served as usual.

To confirm current conditions, the metro management published new video footage showing the actual situation at Beruni station.

The authority urged social media users to refrain from disseminating unverified and outdated information, reminding the public that liability is provided by law for spreading false information.

Earlier, Tashkent Metro announced plans to reduce train headways during peak hours in connection with the expected increase in passenger flow following the start of the new academic year.
