Tashkent Housing Project Suspended Over Safety Violations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Construction work on a multi-storey residential building in Tashkent's Sergeli District has been suspended after inspectors identified violations of construction safety and quality requirements, the Construction and Housing Inspection under the Cabinet of Ministers said.
The inspection was carried out as part of enhanced monitoring measures at construction sites across the capital. During the inspection, specialists found violations related to the storage of construction materials and determined that the construction site and adjacent areas had not been cleared of flammable waste.
Inspectors also found that some reinforced concrete structures had been built in violation of the approved project documentation and did not meet the required quality standards.
Following the inspection, mandatory written orders were issued requiring those responsible to eliminate the identified violations. Construction work at the site has been suspended until all requirements are met.
At the same time, the demolition of reinforced concrete structures built in violation of the approved project requirements has begun.
The inspection said compliance with project documentation and construction quality standards is one of the key conditions for ensuring the safety of future residents.
The agency added that enhanced inspections of construction sites across Tashkent are continuing.
