Tashkent Fines Firm for Counterfeit Trademark Products

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A company in Tashkent has been held liable for producing counterfeit goods in violation of trademark rights. According to the justice authorities, the case is linked to the unlawful use of the AZELIT brand owned by the Russian company “TD Grass.”

The investigation was initiated following a complaint from the rights holder. During the inspection, it was established that LLC “D.S.” had been producing goods under the name “NEXX AZILET,” which is visually and phonetically similar to the registered trademark. Authorities also discovered and confiscated 475 units of the disputed products.

Officials noted that counterfeit goods pose a serious risk, particularly in sectors directly related to human health and safety, including the food industry, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics. Such products are manufactured without compliance with technical standards and may harm consumers.

Following the case review, LLC “D.S.” was fined 100 times the basic calculation value, amounting to 41 million soums. The company was also ordered to cease all activities infringing trademark rights.

The decision was upheld by the Tashkent Interdistrict Economic Court on 24 April 2026.
