Shavkat Mirziyoyev Meets US Special Envoy Sergio Gor in Bishkek
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with US President’s Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gor in Bishkek to discuss further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States and implementing agreements reached at the highest level, the Uzbek presidential press service said.
At the beginning of the meeting, Gor congratulated Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan on the 35th anniversary of the country’s state independence. He also conveyed greetings and best wishes to Mirziyoyev from US President Donald Trump.
The sides positively assessed the momentum in bilateral relations, including the development of political dialogue, interparliamentary and interregional contacts, and the continued expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the practical implementation of joint projects and initiatives. Energy, transport, critical minerals, digital technologies, artificial intelligence and agriculture were identified as priority areas.
The sides also discussed preparations for upcoming events within the C5+1 format. Another topic was preparations for the next meeting of the Uzbek-American Business and Investment Council.
The meeting underscored the importance of further advancing agreements reached between Uzbekistan and the United States and expanding practical cooperation in priority areas.
