Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The search operation for three people who died following an accident at Charvak Reservoir on 2 September has been completed. Divers from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations found the body of the third victim today at 13:35.

The tragedy occurred in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region while a family was taking a boat trip. One of the men entered the water to swim but began to drown because he was not wearing a life jacket. His brother and father rushed to help him and also jumped into the water. All three subsequently died.

The first body, that of the younger son, was found by rescuers on 9 September. Today, the bodies of the second son and his father were recovered.

The search operation was conducted by a specially established headquarters under the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Additional personnel and equipment from the emergency management departments of Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions were also deployed. Modern specialized equipment was used during the search.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that despite the considerable size and depth of Charvak Reservoir, the bodies of all three victims were found within a relatively short period.
