Samarkand and Leningrad Region sign cooperation deal

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Samarkand and the Leningrad Region have agreed to develop long-term cooperation following the signing of a memorandum between Governor Alexander Drozdenko and Samarkand Mayor Adiz Boboev.

The document provides for expanded interaction in cultural, educational, and youth-related areas, including exchange programs and joint initiatives between the two regions.

Alexander Drozdenko noted that, under the agreement, Samarkand will be able to send cultural heritage sites requiring complex restoration to the International Restoration Center in Rozhdestveno. He added that specialists from the center are also ready to share experience, technologies, and professional expertise with Uzbek colleagues.

In addition, the Leningrad Region plans to organize training programs for teachers of the Russian language and literature from Uzbekistan to support professional development and skills enhancement.
