Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio attended an exhibition titled “Uzbekistan and the United States: A Shared History Across Centuries and Continents,” organised as part of the C5+1 ministerial meeting.

The exhibition focuses on scientific and cultural ties between the two nations. The materials on display include the scientific legacy of Ahmad al-Farghani, a poetry collection by Edgar Allan Poe dedicated to Amir Temur, works by American travellers about Uzbekistan and other historical records.

A separate section highlights the sister-city relationship between Tashkent and Seattle, established in 1973. The exhibits aim to underscore the historical foundations of friendship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and the United States.

According to the organisers, studying and promoting this shared historical heritage can help strengthen mutual understanding and create new opportunities for cooperation in science and culture.
