Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The growth of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan in January-September 2020 made up 0.4% versus 5.9% in the same period of 2019, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
Industrial production in Uzbekistan decreased by 2.7% in January-September 2020 against 5.3% in the same period of 2019.
The growth rates of the volume of services provided in the nine months of 2020 reached 1.8% (in January-September 2019 - 12.7%), construction works - 8.6% (24.2%), retail turnover - 0.2% (7%) and agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.4% (2.2%).
In the reporting period, cargo turnover decreased by 6.7%, and passenger turnover - by 16.3%.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover fell by 12% in January-September 2020, exports - by 6% and imports - by 16.5%.
As of 1 October 2020, 483,492 enterprises and organizations are registered in Uzbekistan. The number of operating organizations was 454 939.
State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan noteed that the real growth rates of total income of the population decreased by 0.3% in the reporting period.
As of 1 October 2020, the resident population of Uzbekistan made up 34.38 million people.
