Pakhtakor Rejects French Loan Offer for Abdumajidov
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent football club Pakhtakor has rejected a French club’s proposal to loan defender Muhammadrasul Abdumajidov with an option to buy him, the club said.
Pakhtakor said it had not received an official transfer offer from the foreign club. According to the club, the proposal was conveyed only through the player’s agent and did not meet the team’s requirements.
The club added that it remains ready to consider favorable offers for its players, as each footballer has a specific transfer value.
Another reason for rejecting the proposal was the closure of Uzbekistan’s transfer window. Pakhtakor is currently at an important stage of the season and does not have the opportunity to quickly find a replacement for the defender.
The club also stressed that its coaching staff is given ambitious objectives each season, and this year is no exception. Decisions on player moves and transfers are made in line with those objectives and the team’s interests.
Pakhtakor is set to compete in the AFC Champions League Elite, where the team has been tasked with putting in a strong performance. Against this backdrop, the club said its current priority is to strengthen the squad rather than weaken it.
Pakhtakor said the proposal could have been considered in detail had it arrived earlier. During the summer transfer window, the Tashkent club had already parted ways with two central defenders, who moved to other teams.
The club said it would be able to consider a proposal for Abdumajidov only during the winter transfer window.
