MTS Uzbekistan subscribers reach 6.55m

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Subscriber base of MTS Uzbekistan grew by 0.4% in July 2009 compared to June 2009, Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) said in a statement.

The company said its Uzbek subsidiary attracted 20,000 new subscribers in July. As of 31 July 2009, the subscribers’ base of MTS Uzbekistan reached 6.55 million.

MTS Uzbekistan is former Uzdunrobita and it is largest mobile operator of Uzbekistan on terms of subscribers’ number.
