Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved an updated composition of the Public Council for Entrepreneurship Support under the President. The changes were introduced by a decree dated 27 August implementing tasks outlined during the sixth Open Dialogue with Entrepreneurs.

The council will be headed by Davron Vakhabov, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Abdumannop Buriev, commissioner for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of business entities, will serve as deputy chairman responsible for protecting business interests. Sarvarbek Niyazov, an adviser to the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been appointed secretary of the council.

A significant part of the renewed council consists of founders and executives of manufacturing and textile companies. They include Farhod Mamatjonov of Uztex Group, Jamshid Ismatullayev of Chust Textile, Sherzod Jumayev of Navbahor Tekstil, Ilhomjon Abdurahmanov of Paxtakor Teks and Kamol Abdullayev of Sam Antep Gilam.

The construction and development sector is represented by Murod Nazarov of Murad Buildings, Shavkat Jalolov of Agromir Buildings and Mansurjon Niyazmuhamedov, who heads the Association of Builders of Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors include Azizkhuja Abbaskhujaev of Grand Pharm Trade, Nasimjon Komilov of Stdhealthmed, Jamshid Shakirov of Uzbekistan Hydrogen Peroxide and Sarvar Jumaniyazov, who heads American Hospital.

The food industry and catering sector are represented by Zafar Hashimov of Anglesey Food, Shukhrat Ergashev of Orient-Confection, Ulugbek Rakhimov of Kids Plate Distribution and Dinara Islamova of Dodo Pizza Tashkent.

The industrial and energy sectors are represented by Jakhongir Artikhojaev, founder of Akfa Group, and Tohir Sharipov of Procab. Agriculture is represented by Saydvali Nasretdinov of Uniagri Group, while the leasing and financial services sector is represented by Zafarjon Mustafaev, CEO of Uzbek Leasing International.

The legal and consulting community includes the heads of law firms Akmal Khasanov of Veritas Inter Lex, Davron Akhmatov of Prae Legal and Shokir Bokiev of Turon-Himoyasi. Audit and tax consulting specialists on the council include Azizbek Kurbonov of International Business Audit and Consulting, Umidbek Safarov of United Tax Advisors and Murod Akramov of Technologies of Real Time.

The technology and trade sectors are represented by Ulugbek Rustamov, director of Click, Hikmat Nasrullayev of Realsoft, Sardor Abaskhanov of Global Export Company and Fakhriddin Ilyasov of Mezon Business.

The council also includes Rakhmatjon Abdullayev of Almerro Group, Payzullajon Mirzayev of Manar Group, Shukhrat Ilkhomov of Navro'z-PTK, Akobir Shamsiev of Ako Shams Consulting, Lazizbek Khamidov of Tasnif Group and Lola Mirzayeva, director of Khiva Plaza.

Economist and public figure Otabek Bakirov has also been appointed to the council.

The Public Council for Entrepreneurship Support under the President was established in 2022 following the president’s Open Dialogue with representatives of the business community. Its responsibilities include public oversight of the implementation of entrepreneurs’ initiatives, facilitating interaction between government bodies, businesses and civil society institutions, monitoring problems facing entrepreneurs, and preparing proposals to remove barriers to business development.
