Mirziyoyev reviews development of Bogimaydon mahalla
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Bogimaydon mahalla in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent and reviewed the results of comprehensive improvement and development works carried out in the area.
In the country, the development of mahalla infrastructure and the creation of a comfortable living environment are considered key priorities of state policy. These objectives are reflected in the State Program “Year of Development of the Mahalla and Society,” approved on February 26 of this year, aimed at comprehensive socio-economic renewal of local communities.
The Bogimaydon mahalla, founded in 1987, currently includes 41 apartment buildings and 1,990 apartments, with a population of around 5,500 residents. In recent years, the area has been fully transformed through large-scale improvement works.
Modern social and sports infrastructure has been created in the mahalla. There are 20 children’s playgrounds, 11 workout zones, 3 mini-football fields, and a tennis court. Two preschool educational institutions also operate in the area, serving around 500 children.
Special attention has been paid to employment and economic activity. More than 70 business entities operate in the mahalla. Out of 1,048 young residents, 949 are employed, contributing to lower unemployment and higher household incomes.
As part of environmental improvement efforts, an eco-park was established in 2022, where around 4,500 trees were planted. It has become a popular recreation area for residents of different generations. The “Nuroniys’ House” facility also operates in the mahalla, aimed at strengthening the social and spiritual environment.
During the visit, the President reviewed the public safety system, including surveillance cameras and security control points installed in residential buildings. Entry and exit of vehicles and citizens are monitored using modern technologies.
The President also spoke with residents, elders, and community activists, emphasizing that a well-developed and stable mahalla forms an important foundation of society, while strengthening social cohesion and peace remains a key priority.
In addition, Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a traditional sumalak preparation event, met with young people, and highlighted the importance of sports and healthy lifestyles in raising a well-rounded generation.
