Mirziyoyev Congratulates Students on Knowledge Day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the country's schoolchildren, teachers, mentors, and parents on Knowledge Day, which coincides with the 35th anniversary of the republic's independence, the Uzbek presidential press service said.

The head of state addressed warm wishes to nearly 800,000 children entering first grade for the first time this year, alongside their parents and educators. Mirziyoyev stated that the new academic year should serve as a period for advancing enlightenment across the national education system, including schools, lyceums, technical colleges, and higher education institutions.

Mirziyoyev noted that ongoing reforms are altering the appearance of schools in Uzbekistan and improving educational quality. He described students achieving success in academic studies, information technology, creative fields, sports, and community engagement as the nation's "gold fund" and the seedlings of the Third Renaissance.

The president stated that education and child upbringing will remain top priorities of state policy. According to Mirziyoyev, the government plans to establish "vocational towns" across the regions, introduce advanced practices, and attract leading specialists to ensure school graduates master at least one modern profession alongside their academic studies.

Directing his remarks to schoolchildren, Mirziyoyev described knowledge as the key to a happy and prosperous life, urging students to study the native language, history, and culture of Uzbekistan, as well as foreign languages and world history. He concluded by wishing students successful academic progress in the coming year.
