Ministry of Geology and Mangold Consulting Discuss Freiberg Academy and UGS Projects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan held talks with a delegation from the German company Mangold Consulting GmbH. The meeting, led by Minister Bobir Islamov, took change on 17 June 2026.

During the dialogue, the sides emphasized the strategic status and high importance of the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum as an effective platform for expanding partnerships in the field of subsoil use.

The key vector of the discussion was the strengthening of interaction in the field of specialized education and research activities. The foreign partners and the management of the ministry reviewed in detail the current status and prospects for the long-term development of academic programs.

This refers to the consistent expansion of student exchange projects, as well as support for other joint initiatives implemented between the technical universities of the two countries—the Freiberg Mining Academy from Germany and the University of Geological Sciences of Uzbekistan (UGS).

The meeting participants confirmed their mutual interest in deepening bilateral cooperation in the geological and mining industries. Following the talks, the sides agreed to continue systematic work on developing educational tracks and the practical implementation of the planned academic programs.
