Malaysian Delegation Visits Tashkent’s Eski Juva Market

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation led by Malaysia’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Haji Mohamad bin Sabu visited the Eski Juva dehkan market in Tashkent during its trip to Uzbekistan.

The visitors were introduced to the market’s trading infrastructure, organisation of business activity, and the system for supplying agricultural products to the population. Delegation members toured торговые rows featuring fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, spices, meat products, traditional sweets, and other food items.

As part of the visit, the delegation also visited a traditional bread production facility.

Representatives were briefed on Uzbek bread-making traditions and observed the preparation of tandoor bread.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Malaysian side highly praised the activities of the Eski Juva market, noting its significant role in ensuring food security, supporting domestic trade, and promoting entrepreneurship.

Delegation members also highlighted the wide range of local products, their natural quality, and the preservation of centuries-old trading traditions that continue to play an important role in the country’s modern economic life.
