Kudbiyev Explains Appearance with Expensive Watch

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Chairman of the National Committee for Urbanization and Sustainable Housing Market Development Sherzod Kudbiyev has commented on discussions in social media sparked by his appearance at a presidential briefing wearing an expensive watch.

The accessory drew attention from users, with some observers estimating its value at tens of thousands of dollars.

In particular, reports suggested it could be a Breguet Marine Chronographe 5527 model, with a market price of around $50,000. Kudbiyev noted that the issue also has a moral dimension, pointing to the possible family origin of the watch.

Sherzod Kudbiyev confirmed that the accessory holds personal value for him and was inherited from his father, Davlat Kudbiyev, who passed away about two years ago. According to him, the watch is a keepsake.

At the same time, the committee head emphasized that public officials must adhere to standards of professional ethics and demonstrate restraint, especially during official events.

He added that the appearance and conduct of a civil servant should reflect their status as a representative of the state.

Kudbiyev noted that the public reaction has prompted him to draw appropriate conclusions for the future.
