Karakalpakstan rehabilitates 164 hectares of vineyards

Karakalpakstan Republic rehabilitated vineyards at 164 hectares of land and produced over 6,334 tonnes of grapes in 2013.
According to UzA, Karakalpakstan plans to create vineyards at 900 hectares of land in 2013-2015 to satisfy internal demand for grape and develop the industry.
In early spring, vineyards at 150 hectares of land were created and 180,000 vine planting stocks were planted.
The report said that Karakalpakstan is focusing on producing industrial sorts of grapes. This helps to increase production of grape juices.
New shops on processing of grapes are also constructed in Kanlykul and Kungrad districts of Karakalpakstan.
