IT Park Uzbekistan Strengthens Partnership With Cyberport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Supervisory Board Chairman Farhod Ibragimov and Director General Azamat Karamatov, held a series of meetings in Hong Kong with the leadership of the Cyberport innovation hub and representatives of its ecosystem companies.

According to IT Park Uzbekistan, the discussions focused on developing cooperation under a previously signed memorandum and launching joint projects in the fields of startups, venture capital investments, and artificial intelligence.

The parties also discussed expanding opportunities for technology companies from Uzbekistan and Hong Kong to enter the markets of Central and East Asia.

The Chief Executive Officer of Cyberport, Dr. Rocky Cheng, presented the organization's ecosystem, which connects approximately 2,400 technology companies and startups. These companies operate in fields such as artificial intelligence, financial technologies, blockchain, cybersecurity, and digital entertainment. Cheng highlighted the development of infrastructure for AI projects, including the establishment of a supercomputing center, alongside government support measures and commercialization mechanisms for innovations.

Farhod Ibragimov presented the development of Uzbekistan's technology ecosystem, detailing the activities of IT Park Uzbekistan, the IT Park Ventures and IT Park Capital funds, data center projects, IT Park University, and the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative. He noted that Uzbekistan continues to create favorable conditions for international technology companies and investors.

During the negotiations, the parties agreed to transition from framework cooperation to the practical implementation of joint initiatives. Key priorities include launching mutual soft-landing programs, developing partnerships between startups and investors, exploring the possibility of establishing a joint venture fund, sharing experience in innovation infrastructure development, and hosting educational and business events. Representatives of Cyberport and its resident companies were invited to participate in ICT Week Uzbekistan, which will take place in September 2026.

A dedicated business session focused on presenting opportunities within IT Park Uzbekistan to Cyberport resident companies. Participants were briefed on the requirements for obtaining resident status, state support measures, soft-landing programs, and prospects for entering the Central Asian market through Uzbekistan. Bahodir Ayupov presented the opportunities under the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative, describing the regulatory framework being established based on common law and the protection mechanisms available to investors.

Business representatives expressed interest in joint projects involving artificial intelligence, intelligent automation, digital twins, geoinformation technologies, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, robotics, agricultural technologies, and enterprise software development. The sides also discussed talent training, outsourcing, and pilot projects with public and private organizations.

Following the meetings, company representatives confirmed their interest in further cooperation with IT Park Uzbekistan, participation in ICT Week Uzbekistan, and the development of joint initiatives. IT Park Uzbekistan stated its readiness to support foreign partners at all stages of entering the national market, including business registration, recruitment, establishing business contacts, and implementing pilot projects.
