Illegal Land Sale Attempt Prevented in Samarkand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Law enforcement authorities in Samarkand have prevented an attempted illegal transaction involving a 2-hectare land plot.
The incident involved a man born in 1993 who, according to investigators, conspired with a resident of Samarkand District born in 1983.
According to the case materials, the suspect promised to sell a land plot previously allocated to the second participant’s spouse for the establishment of a greenhouse farm for 490,000 US dollars. He also claimed he could arrange the necessary documentation through contacts in government institutions. As an advance payment, he demanded 50,000 US dollars.
During an оперативное operation conducted by the State Security Service of Uzbekistan together with internal affairs units, the 1993-born suspect was detained while receiving the specified amount of money as material evidence.
A criminal case has been opened against both participants in the alleged transaction, and investigative actions are ongoing.
Authorities reminded that the allocation and sale of land plots is carried out exclusively through the official electronic platform E-AUKSION in accordance with established legal procedures.
