Ferghana Region, Japan Sign 6 Deals Worth $5 Million
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A working visit by a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ferghana region, led by Hokim Khayrullo Bozorov, to Japan marked an important stage in the development of bilateral interregional cooperation.
During the trip, representatives of official and business circles from the region held talks with leaders of Tokyo, Hachioji, as well as Chiba and Tochigi prefectures. Meetings were also held with companies operating in the automotive, electrical engineering, information technology, agriculture, food industry, education, healthcare, and international trade sectors.
Particular attention was given to developing business contacts and investment cooperation. A business forum was organized as part of the visit, along with meetings with compatriots working in Japan.
The delegation presented the trade, economic, and investment potential of the Ferghana region and studied advanced Japanese experience in healthcare, IT, and the food industry.
As a result of the visit, six cooperation agreements were signed, along with a number of investment and trade arrangements.
A key outcome was an agreement with 10 IT companies on exporting services worth US$5 million by the end of 2027.
The working visit of the Ferghana regional delegation to Japan has been completed, with both sides expressing readiness to further expand practical cooperation.
