Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — An explosion occurred at a gas station in Samarkand region, resulting in the deaths of two people. This was reported in an official statement from the Committee for Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety.

According to available information, the incident took place on 7 May 2025, at 3:06 PM at the YIGITALI gas station, located in the "Kushtepa" neighborhood of the Katakurgan district.

During the fueling of two 10-cubic-meter diesel fuel storage tanks, a fire broke out. At the time of the incident, a ZIL truck was connected to the tanks.

As a result of the fire, two people were killed, and one person sustained bodily injuries and was transported to a medical facility.

The cause of the incident is being investigated, and an inquiry is underway.
