Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The European Union provides Uzbekistan with customs preferences, including zero-duty rates, on more than 6,000 goods, Umidjon A’zamkhodjaev, director general of Uzbekekspertiza JSC, said.

According to him, more than 1,600 Uzbek enterprises are registered in the REX system and export their products to the European market using preferential customs rates. Exports are carried out under the GSP+ special trade regime.

“The provision of GSP+ by the European Union to our country, that is, a special trade regime, demonstrates the high level of recognition of Uzbekistan on the international stage. We issue certificates of origin for products manufactured in the republic. Under the special trade regime, more than 6,000 goods from the country are eligible for customs preferences, including zero-duty rates,” the head of Uzbekekspertiza said.

A’zamkhodjaev said the organization is involved in confirming the origin of products manufactured in Uzbekistan by issuing the relevant certificates.

As a result, Uzbek enterprises registered in the REX system can supply their products to European markets using the GSP+ customs preferences provided under the special trade regime.
