Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan's Aktobe Region have discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation, including industrial partnerships, joint ventures and supplies of meat and dairy products to the Uzbek market.
The talks were held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan with a Kazakh delegation led by Abzal Abdikarimov, deputy regional akim.
Kazakh entrepreneurs presented their products and proposals for cooperation in rubber and technical products, meat and dairy production, agriculture and food processing.
The participants also explored opportunities to develop cooperation in light industry, textile manufacturing and logistics. Other areas discussed included localising production, deepening industrial cooperation and establishing joint ventures.
Particular attention was given to supplies of meat and dairy products from Aktobe Region to Uzbekistan. The sides exchanged views on certification procedures and compliance with veterinary and quarantine requirements.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan expressed its readiness to facilitate business contacts between producers from Aktobe Region, Uzbek buyers, local manufacturers and relevant organisations.
Following the meeting, participants exchanged contact details and agreed to hold further business negotiations on specific areas of cooperation.
