Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Fabio Cannavaro claimed his first victory as head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team.
On 9 October, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s national team played a friendly match against Kuwait and won 2–0. Eldor Shomurodov opened the scoring in the 10th minute after receiving a long pass from a defender, breaking away one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and confidently slotting the ball into the net.
Eight minutes later, Khojimat Erkinov doubled Uzbekistan’s lead with a powerful left-footed strike from close range inside the penalty area.
The win marked a promising start for Cannavaro’s tenure and highlighted the team’s potential ahead of upcoming international fixtures.
