E-Commerce Growth in Uzbekistan Accelerates Rapidly

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The global e-commerce market continues to expand rapidly, surpassing US$6.42 trillion in 2025. Growth in the sector is driven by the development of mobile commerce, digital logistics, artificial intelligence-based personalization, and increasing volumes of cross-border sales.

An important role in this development is played by emerging markets, including countries with growing internet penetration, digitalization of services, and young populations. These factors are intensifying global competition and accelerating the integration of national economies into digital trade.

Uzbekistan is currently one of the fastest-growing e-commerce markets in Central Asia. The sector’s volume reached US$1.2 billion in 2024, with forecasts projecting growth to US$1.8–2.2 billion by 2027.

The development of the industry is supported by 32.7 million internet users, the introduction of digital payment solutions, and the expansion of logistics infrastructure. Both local and international companies operate in the market, including Wildberries, contributing to the development of the digital ecosystem and expanding entrepreneurs’ access to online trade.

Wildberries entered the Uzbek market in 2022 and considers the country one of its key international expansion directions. Over the past two years, sales of Uzbek sellers on the platform exceeded US$1 billion, while exports of Uzbek products to Russia increased by 63%.

It is also reported that the company is investing US$150 million in the construction of a logistics center in Tashkent region, while also expanding delivery infrastructure and supporting the development of local businesses.
