Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation led by Zhu Huanli, Vice President of Yellow River Conservancy Technical University, visited Uzbekistan on 4–7 August 2026 to advance educational cooperation, according to regional media reports.

During the visit, representatives from the Chinese university met with Uzbek higher education institutions and Chinese enterprises operating in Uzbekistan to discuss training international specialists and jointly establishing the Da He Workshop. The delegation included officials from the university's department of external relations as well as representatives from its hydraulic and electrical engineering faculties.

At Tashkent State Agrarian University, Zhu met with Vice President Abdulaziz Abduvasikov to discuss joint training of specialists for Central Asia's water resource management and agriculture sectors. Discussions also covered scientific research, faculty, and student exchange programs. The two institutions reached an agreement and signed a memorandum of understanding.

The delegation also conducted talks at KIMYO International University in Tashkent, focusing on personnel training for renewable energy and digital transformation in education. Zhu proposed using the Da He Workshop as a platform for innovative research in renewable energy and multidisciplinary training. The parties agreed on project parameters, signed a cooperation agreement, held an opening ceremony for the workshop, and presented joint course outcomes on artificial intelligence and new media.

Additionally, the delegation visited the China Energy Engineering Corporation (Gezhouba) Samarkand Cement facility, where Deputy General Manager He Peng held talks with university representatives. The sides tentatively agreed to create specialized training programs for company staff and establish a base for overseas internships and employment.

Yellow River Conservancy Technical University intends to leverage the results of the visit to further expand international educational cooperation in Central Asia and support the Belt and Road Initiative.
