Chinese Investors Plan New Projects in Ferghana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Hokim of the Ferghana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, held a meeting with a delegation led by Zhang Yuanqing, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chinese company Shaanxi Puruida Industrial Group Co., Ltd., during the V Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The sides discussed the implementation of large-scale investment projects in the Ferghana region with the participation of Chinese investors, as well as the creation of new production facilities in the region.

It was noted that a favorable investment and business climate has been established in the Ferghana region, along with necessary conditions to support foreign investors. The creation of a special center to develop cooperation with Chinese partners was also reported.

Representatives of the Chinese company said they had studied the elevator equipment market in Uzbekistan and positively assessed conditions for developing this sector in the Ferghana region. At the initial stage, the company plans to implement a project for the production of elevator equipment.

Interest was also expressed in cooperation in the textile industry. The Chinese side proposed involving partners and implementing joint projects in the region, noting that the company has textile industrial zones and export-oriented production targeting European markets.

The Hokim of the region emphasized that comprehensive practical support would be provided by regional authorities for the implementation of investment initiatives.
