Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Chinese company Xi’an Giant Biogene Technology is exploring opportunities for cooperation with Uzbekistan in the cosmetics industry. Prospects for entering the local market and establishing production facilities were discussed at a meeting between Shahlo Ibrahimova, Deputy Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and a company delegation led by its President, Fan Juan.
Representatives of China’s cosmetics industry, investors and business circles also took part in the talks.
The parties reviewed the potential of Uzbekistan’s cosmetics market and possible areas for joint cooperation.
Priorities included establishing local manufacturing facilities, producing goods to replace imports, attracting Chinese investment and introducing modern technologies.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry said it was ready to assist foreign companies in finding Uzbek partners, preparing joint investment projects and organising B2B meetings. The possibility of locating production facilities in the country’s regions was also discussed.
Following the meeting, the participants agreed to continue negotiations, jointly examine investment opportunities and develop promising projects in the cosmetics industry.
The specific investment amounts, project implementation timelines and parameters of potential production facilities have not been disclosed.
