China Issues White Paper on Global Governance Reform
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Press Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China has published a White Paper titled "Building a More Just and Reasonable Global Governance System: China's Concepts, Initiatives and Actions."
The document outlines China's positions and initiatives in the field of global governance and aims to strengthen international consensus on reforming the global governance system.
The White Paper emphasizes that global governance is a shared endeavor of all humanity, and the creation of a more just and effective system is a long-term aspiration of the international community. China states that it is an active participant in and supporter of global governance processes.
It is noted that since the beginning of the "new era," President Xi Jinping has put forward the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind. The document refers to the promotion of multilateralism, an equal and multipolar world, and inclusive economic globalization.
It also mentions that in 2025 the Global Governance Initiative was introduced, aimed at addressing key contemporary challenges and reforming the existing system of international cooperation. According to the White Paper, the initiative has received support from nearly 160 countries and international organizations, while more than 60 countries have joined the initiative’s group of friends.
The document stresses the need to maintain the central role of the United Nations and international law in the global governance system. It also highlights the importance of adhering to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and strengthening the existing international order.
The White Paper consists of five sections and covers an assessment of current global challenges, the conceptual foundations of the initiative, China's contributions to international governance, and prospects for the further development of the global cooperation system.
