China–Central Asia Human Rights Forum Opens in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The IV Forum on Human Rights Development titled “China–Central Asia” will take place in Tashkent on 14 May, serving as a new platform to expand regional dialogue and exchange experience in the humanitarian sphere.
The event is jointly organized by the China Foundation for Human Rights Development and the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights.
The forum will focus on the theme “Jointly Promoting Progress in Human Rights Through High-Quality Development.”
Key topics on the agenda include the right to development, poverty reduction, improving public welfare, environmental sustainability, the green economy, and the use of digital intelligent technologies in the protection of human rights.
Around 100 participants are expected to attend, including representatives of expert, academic, government, and business communities from China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
Discussions will explore prospects for joint projects in sustainable development, environmental protection, digital transformation, and broader humanitarian cooperation between China and Central Asian countries.
The forum is held on a regular basis and is intended to strengthen regional cooperation on human rights issues.
The first forum took place in Beijing in 2023, followed by the second in Astana in 2024, and the third in Xi’an.
