Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The Republican Center for Seismic Forecasting Monitoring of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that an earthquake occurred on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 5 January at 21:59 local time (01/05/2024, 16:59 GMT).

Epicenter was in Chartak district of Namangan region. Earthquake coordinates: 41.11 degrees north latitude; 71.81 degrees east longitude. Magnitude M=3.5. Depth 15 km. The distance from the epicenter to Tashkent is 218 km in a southeast direction.
